Maggie's Beauty Tip:
November 2009
Dear Maggie, I'm a bit strapped for cash and can't afford any new-season pieces, how can I adapt last season's clothes? Alison, Coral Bay
Dear Carol,
Layering long-sleeved t-shirts under short sleeved tops and dresses is a stylish way to keep those chilly draughts at bay. Black leggings and opaque tights are instant outfit transformers. Try coloured opaque tights such as navy, purple (the colour of the season which everyone can wear) or forest green. Patterned tights are hot news this year too. The temperature may have dropped a little but that doesn't mean you can't still wear your favourite summer dress, just slip on tailored trousers or jeans underneath. Winter florals are a key trend but you can team your summer blooms with dark cosy fabrics such as a navy chunky knit or a black wool skirt. Breathe new life into last season's skirt by wearing it with knee-length boots and a fab wool coat. Maggie.
